#0010 Living Deliberately

Set new goals. Meet new challenges. Dream a new dream.

I set new goals every week, well I should say John and I set goals each week. We display the goals on our fridge weekly to help keep us focused during the week and at the end of the week, we revisit them.

Living Deliberately

We decide whether or not we followed through with each of our goals and how to be more deliberate in our next week. It’s funny too, something that seemed like such a small habit to start a few months back has really had a huge impact on my daily life.

I guess to get where you want to go, you first have to know where you want to go.

Be smart with the goals you set, make sure they are attainable and specific. Many little goals will help you achieve one huge success. That is my best tip, it will help you keep your eye on the prize while also helping to keep you from getting discouraged and having feelings of being overwhelmed with one extra-large goal.  If you set many mini goals to one big goal of yours they can help by being mile markers and you will have more to celebrate along the way. Small attainable goals are a good key to success.

Discovering a new passion

I am continuously working on new goals. Lately, I have been lucky enough to have discovered a new passion of mine. I think in this life you really have to make your own wake. The best way to do so, is to find things that drive you. For me, those things include yoga, crafting, people, and of course writing.

Most recently, I have been diving into this newest passion of mine: candle making. I have been experimenting and working on perfecting this art of candle pouring. While also focusing largely on macramé covers to make my candles just a little different. One day while over at my grandma’s house I found a beautiful macramé wall hanging. When I pointed it out my mother told me that she had made it in her youth, I was in awe, it looked so great. This has been part of my inspiration to dive into this hobby of macramé. I even have been enjoying this one so much that I am now working on starting to sell these unique gifts.

At the yoga studio, I attend they are having a Holiday Bazaar which will be my first chance to show my work to the public. They made final decisions this week, so this is my grand reveal that I will have a station at this event. I am eagerly anticipating it and hope that you will send good vibes my way on this new personal adventure.

Baby Steps toward goals

Stay tuned to learn more about my future endeavors in the world of small homegrown business and the challenges and triumphs it may bring me. I will be working to make my own website too, with the help of my adoring boyfriend, John.

What are you working on right now? Anything new? Any continued passions in your life? I love to hear others passions and how they make their own waves in this huge Ocean of life.

Ending notes for today:

  • Dream big and learn to create your own waves.
  • Hell, you may even teach a few folks to surf along the way.
  • The holidays are coming, so I am making my full transformation into elf status currently.

As always live lightly and love courageously my dear readers, until next time.

  1. I just read this! I love the idea of the goals. In social work we use smart goals: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time specific. Now that I have more time, I’ve been getting into cooking more and enjoying it. I also like putting together Hazel’s meals. I still journal a few times a week.

    1. Smart goals is genius. I have heard the idea, but I need to learn to apply it to more in my goal setting in the future. I am glad you have been doing more cooking and writing yourself, I look forward to trying the butternut squash recipe. Send me more too, if any are really good. 😊

  2. I have recently started weekly goals too! I have decided that I don’t clean as often as I should so I am going to try to do one task a day and see if it helps. I’ve also added doing yoga everyday! I enjoy it more than I thought I would!
I have too many hobbies, I say too many because I don’t have time to do them all as much as I would like to! My most recent hobby would have to be woodworking. I like crafts too, I have crocheted a few blankets, made a few welding hats for my boyfriend on the sewing machine, and I also like to make stained glass!
Thanks for sharing this post! I enjoyed it 🙂

    1. That’s great, so many hobbies! I know that feeling of not enough time for all of them. I love to make jewelry, candles, knitting, card making, etc. So many fun things and never enough time to do them. Keep up all of your great hobbies!
